The CYBER SECURITY AND DATA PROTECTION: RISKS AND CHALLENGES IN DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGICALLY TIMES” Conference, took place Wednesday, September 12, 2018, from 14.00 to 18.00 at Ioannis Vellidis Conference Center in Thessaloniki.
The conference was organized within the framework of the organization of the American Pavilion at the 2018 Thessaloniki International Fair, where the USA was the honored country, and was marked by great success and participation by a great number of distinguished guests, representatives of the political, academic and business community. Cyber security and GDPR experts attended the conference and took part in the vibrant dialogue, expressing their deep concerns regarding today’s challenges and opportunities formed by the increasing reliance on technology.
Key issues, such as the 4th Industrial Revolution, Cyber Risks, Cyber Crime and GDPR issues have been presented and discussed at the conference. Important suggestions have been made and solutions proposed regarding the parameters that can guarantee a safe and reliable use of cyberspace which is vital for the safety of all citizens. It is a fact that cyber war and cyber attacks are real threats whose consequences are affect great parts of the population and are confronted on a daily basis.
