On Wednesday, June 30, 2021, the annual General Assembly of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce was successfully held in virtual format.
The President, Nikolaos Bakatselos, with the presence of Secretary General, Alexandros Costopoulos, the Treasurer, Litsa Panayotopoulos, and Executive Director, Elias Spirtounias, presented the actions and interventions carried out by the Chamber in 2020, and announced the strategy that will be developed in the following period. In the context of the event, which took place in a digital environment, extensive reference was made to the work of the Committees, through a wide range of interventionist initiatives across the pillars of the economy. At the same time, the Chamber’s actions and collaborations with international resonance were reflected, which contributed to strengthening the country’s geopolitical position, as well as its commercial and investment prospects.
The President of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Nikolaos Bakatselos, in his speech, underlined:
- “The development of a coordinated strategy, based on the specificities and needs of the Greek economy and society, while integrating Europe’s standards, political priorities and recommendations, goes through supporting entrepreneurship, promoting innovation, technological upgrading of the public and private sectors and strengthening ”
- “As a Chamber we responded to the demands of the times with an overall transformation of our business and communication strategy, adapting to new data. We have used technology and developed a multitude of initiatives and events with a substantial and intrusive character. Responsibly, we have submitted to the political leadership of the country substantial and targeted proposals, which were elaborated by our committees, for the post covid-19 era in Greece. ”
- “In the near future, in a multi-level business planning, participating in initiatives and discussions with other American Chambers, initiatives will be undertaken in key areas of business, as well as central issues of global interest. Through an integrated strategy, we include issues from the circular economy and mobility to employment on our agenda, to the new data on corporate governance and innovative entrepreneurship that has always been at the heart of the Chamber’s interests.”
