Cooperation between Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and Ministry of Digital Governance with mobile telephony companies – Access to digital platforms through mobile networks, free of charge, will be available from Wednesday, April 8
Zero rating access to mobile networks on digital platforms used by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs for remote education in schools, as of Wednesday, April 8, has been ensured by the cooperation of the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Niki Kerameus, Minister of State and Digital Governance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Sofia Zacharaki, and the country’s mobile phone providers Cosmote, Vodafone and Wind.
The enormous work of remote education for the students of our country is carried out through the fixed broadband connections that are commercially available for each household, with coverage that according to the data of the National Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) exceeds 99% throughout the country.
In an effort to maximize the technological choices available to all citizens under the current circumstances, mobile phone companies responded to the initiative of the relevant Ministries and provided free access to websites used by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs distance education in schools.
