The 22nd Annual HEALTHWORLD Conference “Making Healthcare Reform a Political and Investment Priority”, organized by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, took place at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel with physical presence and completed with great success. Healthworld is an established Conference on major healthcare policy-related issues and was held under the Auspices of the Ministry of Health, the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE), the Association of Health Research and Biotechnology Industry (SEIV), the Phrma Innovation Forum (PIF), the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and Medtech Europe.
The need for investment, reforms and political action were discussed during the conference as critical parameters for improving the health system in Greece and protecting citizens’ health. The creation of a new National Health System in which citizens will have access to high-quality services, regardless of income, with policies and procedures that will ensure unhindered access in terms of equality, the funding of the HC system aiming to achieve increase in public health expediture to the EU average, the proper management of resources, the axes of social policy which directly or indirectly affect the level of citizens’ health, the restructuring of the hospital sector, the role of AI in diagnosis, treatment and clinical practice, the pharmaceutical policy in Greece and the European pharmaceutical strategy, the primary HC and many other key issues attracted the interest of the audience during the 2 days of the Conference.
Distinguished speakers from Greece and abroad. representatives of the scientific community and the hospital sector, health institutions, governmental representatives and MPs, and representatives from the business community, examined all the above key issues from a variety of perspectives, providing a broad spectrum of ideas and experience.
