The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce proudly presents the 20th annual Tax Forum, Connecting Experts and Shaping Reforms, to convene in Athens on October 31, 2024.
The annual Tax Forum of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce -the longest running institutional event on taxation in Greece- has been recognized by experts as the unique opportunity for creative and effective public dialogue on tax efficiency issues and policies, both nationally and abroad. The Forum hosts top level speakers from Greece, EU, and the United States, experts in taxation from fiscal administrations, business, judiciary, and academia. The Tax Forum annually welcomes c-suite financial, tax and industry leaders. International developments at EU and OECD level, as well as from the US, constitute core objectives of the Forum, which aims to update the business community and industry leaders on the latest tax developments and their impact in the business environment, the investment opportunities, and the Greek economy.
The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and its Taxation Committee organize the Tax Forum in Athens for the 20th consecutive year, considering that economies and societies have already been impacted by downfalls but also major trends that will form our world in the coming years. Digitalization, demography, climate change, energy costs and globalization impact the way we live, work, interact and do business. These shifts have a significant impact on taxation – challenging previously steady sources of revenue, when in the medium-to-longer term, a significant challenge for the tax policy agenda is appearing, exerting economic and fiscal pressures that threaten fiscal sustainability. The challenge for policymakers is how to maintain or increase tax revenues through a broad tax base and high compliance, without discouraging investment, work, and economic dynamism. In view of the most vital point of implementing a digital transformation model in Greece, this year’s forum discussions, highlight the well-justified tax incentives as an important tool to support economic activities that advance public goals.
Kindly mark your calendar for the Tax Forum 2024 which will be held in an in-person format. It will be our pleasure to welcome you once again as a Tax Forum prominent participant.
