The Annual General Meeting of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce was successfully held on June 27, 2024, at the Hotel Grande Bretagne with the necessary quorum and participation of its members.

During the General Assembly, U.S. Ambassador to Greece George J. Tsunis delivered a keynote address to the Chamber members and referred to the investments that are steadily and progressively made by the United States in Greece, stressing that prosperity results in stability and consequently peace.

A fireside chat followed with Nikolaos Bakatselos, President of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, and Drake Behrakis, President of Marwick Associates, who is leading a U.S. Business Delegation visiting Greece. The topics discussed included: the current investment climate in Greece, the economic evolution of Greece in recent years, the sectors considered most attractive to American investors and the key conditions for making an investment decision, as well as how Greek businesses can transform and do better to attract investment.

Nikolaos Bakatselos, addressing the Chamber members of the in the context of the General Assembly, stressed that the Chamber is preparing to proceed with a series of activities that will ensure its physical presence in United States, such as the organization of Trade/Business Delegations and the establishment of a major event on bilateral economic and trade relations in the USA, adding that:

“To ensure the continued growth of the Chamber, we must continue to increase the value of our members’ participation, further utilize the dynamics of our committees, increase extroversion, build foundations for medium-sized American entrepreneurship in Greece and, respectively, for the medium-sized Greek entrepreneurship in America, to shed more light on the prospects of the Greek economy and strive to create strong alliances to continue the effort to improve the economic model in our country. We must not forget.

Greece is a gateway to the European Union, in Southeast Europe. We have vast prospects if we focus on our goal. By remaining committed to our core values ​​of integrity, innovation and inclusion, we will ensure a sustainable, enabling business environment for all.”
