The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with its Corporate Responsibility (CR) Committee, held its 22nd annual Corporate Responsibility conference, The Pale Blue Dot, on October 22, 2024, at the iconic Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
The Pale Blue Dot conference builds on the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce long tradition of sustainability conferences focused on priority issues for the sustainability of our planet and our species. The inspiration for this conference was the distant perspective of Earth as seen from space, where it appears as a faint blue point of light, urging us to focus on the most essential issues for life and well-being on the planet and to highlight business and investment opportunities arising from these great challenges of our time.
This year’s conference focused on four sustainability issues of uncontested significance that AmCham Greece believes need to be seamlessly embedded in every forward-looking political and business agenda. Our goal was to focus on practical and local-scale solutions that interlink business sense to the environmental, societal, and geopolitical effects of climate change: Carbon Capture, Biodiversity, Socio-economic Impacts of Natural Disasters, and Cultural Tolerance & Integration.
