A virtual meeting was held on February 15, 2024 where AmCHam GR Tourism Committee members had the opportunity to discuss issues of common interest with the Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni and the Secretary General of Greek National Organization, Dimitris Fragakis.
- Among the topics that were discussed are:
- The integration of ancient Greek culture into Greece’s tourism strategy to attract more U.S. visitors
- Direct flights increase between different U.S. cities and Athens or/and Thessaloniki to boost tourists movement.
- The need to enhance tourism education and training systems in Greece
- The infrastructure and usage conditions of the Port of Piraeus to increase “home porting”.
- The organization of a business delegation to the United States
